About this place
At Moritako, takoyaki comes with a choice of sauce, rock salt, soy sauce or ponzu. One diner ordered the sauce version and enjoyed its crisp outside and soft, gooey centre. The menu also lists takoyaki in portions of 7 pieces, Italian-style yaki, and su-yaki and shrimp yaki. You can stick with the classic and choose a seasoning, or explore a different style or flavour.
Another draw is the baby castella, baked at the shop. One customer ordered a batch and took it home freshly made, noting its rich egg flavour and golden colour. Another reported that the little cakes stayed moist when chilled, as well as when warm. They make a good accompaniment to takoyaki, or a reason in their own right to stop by for takeaway.
Moritako also serves food for dining in, including a selection of individual dishes. It works for a light meal of takoyaki or a more substantial dinner with izakaya fare.
